Letter from the President:
Howdy there! My name is Madison Stracke and I have the honor of serving as President of the Kappa Chapter of Chi Omega. I am so glad you decided to check out our website! Here you can find an overview of what Chi Omega represents. I hope this platform allows you to see a glimpse as to why we are so lucky to call each other sisters and call Chi Omega our home. You will quickly learn why these women are my truest friends and biggest role models. I’ll be honest, when I went through recruitment, I was nervous, excited, and uncertain. Through my experience, I found Chi Omega to be the place where I could be entirely who I am. These women were intentional listeners and I felt supported and encouraged to grow into the best version of myself. Throughout that week, it was evident that Chi Omegas are the type of women I wanted to be like in four years. They are driven, authentic, and loving. I was and still am amazed by their genuine care for one another. Even after that first week I was wholeheartedly inspired by their fierce loyalty and dedication to who and what they love. After three years, I truly believe I am a better student, a better friend, a better leader, and an all-around better person because of the love my sisters have bestowed upon me. |
The women of Chi Omega are individually caring, loyal, empathetic, humble, and compassionate. Chi Omegas have always shown great adaptability and perseverance. Each member strives to live out our 6 Purposes:
Friendship, High Standards of Personnel, Scholarship, Campus Activities, Career Development, and Community Service.
Friendship can be seen by the genuine bonds between the women of Chi Omega. In a house that is so wonderfully diverse through different backgrounds, interests, and futures, it is amazing to see the relationships that are fostered. As women of Chi Omega, we also hold each other to a higher standard of character. We challenge each other to take actions that will benefit our sisters and ourselves long-term.
Scholarship is seen through our chapter GPA, which is consistently one of the highest Greek grade point averages on campus. Currently, we hold the top GPA in all Panhellenic Sororities. Through dedication to our studies and always being willing to lend a helping hand to our sisters, Chi Omegas truly embody what it means to be scholarly.
Our campus is also sprinkled with passionate Chi Omega leaders. Our involvement is diverse and widespread. Many women participate, and hold leadership positions in musical groups, philanthropic activities, student government, intramural or University sports teams, and academic-based organizations. You will find a Chi Omega in every corner of campus. Our members are involved in nearly 100 organizations!
The women in Chi Omega are also very driven towards career and personal development opportunities. I love venturing back to the Chi Omega house after the summer and hearing about the incredible and unique internships and job experiences my sisters have had. Whether it’s studying abroad to Europe, or conducting international research, interning for major companies in New York, or going on a road trip with your Chi Omega sisters, we are always taking advantage of opportunities to gain experience in the most amazing places.
Lastly, Chi Omegas exemplify our purpose of community service with participation in philanthropic events. Kappa has raised nearly $164,000 for Make-A-Wish over the past 20 years. Our Philanthropy Director, Gracyn Scott, has been planning with her team for our upcoming Waffles for Wishes and Cup of Joe with Chi O. Every fall, we also host Wings for Wishes, an event where we provide all-you-can-eat chicken wings to raise money for our national philanthropy, the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Chi Omega’s commitment to Friendship, High Standards of Personnel, Scholarship, Campus Activities, Career Development, and Community Service allows us to live with the highest form of character possible.
College can be overwhelming and throw us some curveballs, but surrounding myself with this group of diverse, talented, and driven women has helped mold me into a woman of dignity, drive, and grace. These women are here to support each other through the ups and downs and teach how to make the most out of every opportunity. Being a Chi Omega has made my college journey exceptionally better and it will continue to guide me in my future endeavors.
Chi Omega is more than just four years; it is for a lifetime.
Loyally in Chi Omega,
Madison Stracke, Chapter President
